Visit from Grandma Von

After our adventures at Grandparent's camp this summer, Sean put together a little visit with his mom and sister. We went to Sea World, since the kids and I had season passes already.  Then to Aquatica the next day.  His sister went MIA with her boyfriend the whole time, so I don't have any pictures of them, but none the less, we did have fun. It kept raining off and on the whole time, but we managed through it all.

Our rain gear.

The Manatee and sea turtle exhibit was being built up the last time we went, but had opened up since.  I was so excited to have a chance to show the kids what a manatee was.  Manatees are one of my favorite animals.  They are rare to see, and are gentle giants.

Here is the sea turtle.  Also in this exhibit, they have what is called a "Turtle Trek" where you have a 3D panoramic view of a movie about the life of a turtle, you are the turtle.  Lots of fun.

It was very difficult getting Maren on rides.  She is not a roller coaster girl.  But I was able to get her on some rides in the kiddie area.  I split up from the rest of the group so Maren didn't have to ride the bigger coasters.

On the way home from all the fun we saw a gorgeous rainbow. Just about every car pulled over to take pictures, we just followed suit.

Of course we had to take Grandma to our traditional hibachi grill experience.

I don't have any pictures of Aquatica, since my phone/camera is not water proof, but we sure did have a lot of fun on all of those fun rides. :)  All in all we had a great time with Grandma. :)
