When Sage and her family came down to visit over the Christmas Break we were able to visit a historical museum. It has the history of Fort Pierce.
Below is a statue of a bear that someone had carved for the museum. Fort Pierce has a beautification program and puts up artwork across town.
Above is the Florida version of a windmill. Compare it to Grandma and Grandpa Thompson's windmill from Holland.
Below Conner and David are showing what hard workers they are by putting their noses to the grindstone, as the old saying goes.
Above is an old time carriage, and below is one of the first horseless carriages. Or an old time car.
Above and below the kids are modeling off an old time fire engine.
This display shows off an old time window for shoppers. Can you see the old time swim suits that people used to wear? The top one has women's clothes and the lower one holds men's clothes.
For all of you cow boys out there, I thought you'd like the literal cow boys and cow girls. In the Rose Parade this year, on TV, I saw someone there riding a bull down the street. So I guess that it isn't too uncommon to give your horse a break and ride the cow. :")
Above is an old time saddle like they used to ride on in the army in the civil war times.....ooouch!!!!
Below is the scripture of the baby playing with the Asp. Well, thank goodness this one is no longer alive, but I thought it would help bring that scripture to life with Brenna playing with the stuffed Rattlesnake.
Here we have a saw fish, and Little Corby posing as military officer.
An old row boat, and the next three below show old time uniforms for the settlers, soldiers, and native Americans.
Above is how the old time settlement of Fort Pierce looked like, below is a stuffed Bobcat. My old High School mascot.
An old Native American settlement replica.
Here the kids are trying on the type of clothing the Native Americans wore in these parts of the world.
